Legado de Francisco KG, 5 years
Legado de Francisco was foaled on the 28th of June 2000. He was named in the honour of Francisco (Paco) Lazo Diaz; who passed away in the spring of 2000. Legado was named in his honour. Don Francisco Lazo Diaz was one of the best-known breeders of bay and black Andalusians in Spain. Legado our incredible stallion carries the bloodlines of Poseido V; a bay stallion of the purest Carthusian breeding. Legado's sire and dam trace back to the famous Maluso.
Legado’s movement makes him suitable for many disciplines. He is blessed with a powerful backend, and excellent coordination. He is gentle and playful, a real joy to own. Legado will pass on his bay color and possibly, black, as his sire is homozygous black. He has consistently thrown his conformation and straight movement to all of his foals. They all resemble him in his looks and movement. Legado improves bone substantially, and improves the structure and strength of the hoof wall. He has thrown black 50% of the time when bred to black mares.

Favorito XLVIII (Legado's Sire)
Legado’s sire Favorito de la Parra (Cria Approved) is a champion dressage stallion. He won the IALHA Open Competition High Point Award for dressage in 1998, and placed in the top 10% overall for the USDF at 2nd Level. In 1999 Favorito was the National Champion at 3rd Level for the IALHA and placed in the top 12% over all for the USDF at 3rd Level. Favorito earned his placing competing on the tough Florida winter circuit and the Midwest summer circuit. Favorito de la Parra was imported from Spain. Favorito has been DNA'd to be homozygous black with no Agouti (bay) gene. His sire Favorito XX was a Reserve National Champion in Spain and was featured in one of Robert Varva’s books. Favorito’s half brother, Favorito XXX, was the 1992 “ Champion of
Champions"; the most prestigious award given to a stallion in Spain.

Favorito XLVIII (Legado's Sire)

Legado’s dam is Galeona HA ( Cria Approved ) 16hh bay mare, with outstanding movement. She has a powerful hind end and hock action along with incredible impulsion and suspension. Galeona’s dam is the black mare, Electra de la Para. Electra was bred by Paco Lazo and imported in-utero from Spain. Galeona’s full brother Galleon II HA, placed in the top 5 for all Andalusians in the USDF 2000 yearbook results – his first year showing – at training level. Galeona’s sire, Galeon VII, was also bred by Paco Lazo and imported from Spain.

Galeona HA (Legado's Dam)
Legado traces back to Poseido V ( Pure Terry ), sired by Nevado III through both of his parents. Legado will cross well with most breeds, adding size, substance, bone and strength, improving leg and foot structure and contributing a gentle nature, and of course beauty. Our foals from Legado are wonderful. I really have to Thank Kay Greenbury, and Roger Smith of Avalon Farms for the opportunity to own such a spectacular line-bred PRE Andalusian stallion. Legado is inscribed and is still waiting for revision.
